PARIS REINFORCE

PARIS REINFORCE is an EU-funded research and innovation project aimed at effectively supporting design of climate policies, in light of these requirements; it started in June 2019 and is expected to run until summer 2022.

In particular, the project aims to develop a novel, demand-driven, integrated assessment model-oriented framework for effectively supporting the design and analysis of climate policies in the European Union as well as in other major emitters and selected less emitting countries, in respect to the Paris Agreement and associated challenges.

The strategic policy-making process often includes several “beneficiaries” (e.g. citizens, customers, workers, businesses) and a smaller number of “decision-makers” (managers of public and private organisations, etc.). Developing a strategy is also complicated because of the potentially large number of policy combinations and their impact on the beneficiaries, which, however, provide limited input in the composition of the final policy portfolio.
